acid medium
Soil with low pH value and lime content

ball
The soil around the roots, held together by lateral roots and rootlets
basal cutting
Cutting taken from a part of the shoot near the base of the plant
bloom
Blossom, florescence, mass of flowers
cultivar
A cultivated plant that has been selected and given a unique name because of its decorative or useful characteristics; it is usually distinct from similar plants and when propagated it retains those characteristics.
